A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
The Islamic University in Madinah faced the challenge of delivering secure, campus-wide connectivity for more than 12,000 students and 2,000 staff across 60 buildings and multiple branches while avoiding the high cost and slow deployment of conventional cabling. The university also needed to support BYOD, voice mobility, and event Wi‑Fi with robust access controls and monitoring as it expands with new buildings and smart zones.
The university deployed Aruba Networks’ wireless solution—105 Series internal and 175 Series external access points with Aruba 3000/6000 controllers—along with ClearPass access management, AirWave monitoring, RAPs, VPN encryption and visitor POPs for AmigoPOD. The phased rollout allowed rapid, low‑cost connection of lecture halls, offices and conference spaces (all buildings expected online within 18 months), delivering secure BYOD access, improved voice mobility, centralized management and stronger security and monitoring across campus.
