A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Madrid Digital, working with the Community of Madrid, delivered the Hospital de Emergencias Enfermera Isabel Zendal — a 1,056‑bed emergency hospital built in just over three months to relieve COVID pressure. The challenge was to deploy a secure, fully operational campus network across an 80,000 sqm site that supported clinicians, patients and thousands of IoT devices while enabling full mobility, strict access control and remote management under tight timelines and limited on‑site resources.
Using Aruba’s unified architecture — Wi‑Fi 6 APs, Mobility Controllers and Conductor, CX switching, ClearPass (Device Insight & Policy Manager), Policy Enforcement Firewalls, AirWave, NetEdit, UXI sensors and Dynamic Segmentation — Madrid Digital delivered a zero‑trust network on schedule. The solution enabled remote operations, secure “clean” zones, automated role‑based access and IoT profiling, continuous service assurance and the flexibility to reconfigure spaces; the hospital now supports roughly 2,000 connected devices with layered security and reliable campus‑wide mobility.
