Case Study: HOK achieves faster global design collaboration and 64% MPLS cost savings with HPE Aruba Networking EdgeConnect SD‑WAN

A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the HOK Case Study

HOK enables productive design collaboration across continents with global SD‑WAN built on Aruba EdgeConnect SD‑WAN edge platform

HOK, a global design, architecture and engineering firm with about 1,600 employees across 23 offices, needed to support multinational teams that share large 3D models and cloud applications. Their legacy MPLS network was costly and underperforming, impairing collaboration and client presentations, and the small IT team required a more flexible, easier-to-manage WAN.

HOK deployed the Aruba EdgeConnect SD‑WAN platform with Aruba Boost and Aruba Orchestrator across 29 sites, moving to dual broadband circuits and decommissioning MPLS where possible. The result: a 64% reduction in MPLS costs, application performance improvements that cut Revit model open times in half, unified zone‑based firewalling with SIEM integration, better network visibility and centralized management that boosts designer productivity and simplifies operations for the five‑person IT team.
