A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Goddard Public Schools, a 5,500‑student district in Kansas, needed to move from static labs to a 1:1 and BYOD learning model after a survey showed most students already owned Wi‑Fi devices. The district also wanted to extend secure wireless access to community spaces like the public library, but its existing Cisco infrastructure couldn’t support the planned hybrid mix of district‑issued and personal devices.
Goddard piloted and then replaced its network with Aruba’s MOVE architecture, deploying 550+ access points, controllers and switches plus Aruba ClearPass (Policy Manager, Guest, Onboard), AirWave and AirGroup for Apple services. The unified wired/wireless solution and automated onboarding enabled district‑wide BYOD, simplified policy and guest management, supported new teaching models, reduced device procurement needs, and improved facility monitoring and school safety.
