Global design-forward home décor company innovates with 3D CAD, HD video and fulfillment automation using Aruba ESP-based network

Umbra is a Toronto‑based, design‑driven home décor manufacturer with about 1,000 employees across 10 sites and distribution in 120+ countries. Facing rapid e‑commerce growth, expanded overseas manufacturing and heavier demands from 3D CAD, HD video and fulfillment automation, Umbra needed to modernize its wired and wireless infrastructure to deliver secure, high‑performance, scalable connectivity with low administrative overhead.

Working with Aruba, Umbra deployed Aruba 510 Wi‑Fi 6 APs, 2930F switches, AirWave and ClearPass and is rolling out Aruba UXI for continuous user/device monitoring. The upgraded Aruba ESP‑based network scaled to meet an 80% surge in e‑commerce demand, handled a 250% increase in file sizes, supported new manufacturing automation and onboarding, accommodated higher scanner and camera densities, and delivered consistent collaboration and AI‑enabled monitoring for proactive issue remediation and lower management costs.
