A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the Henkel Case Study

Global consumer goods manufacturer uses gigabit wireless LAN and ClearPass to support its digitalisation process

Henkel, a global consumer goods manufacturer with around 50,000 employees and trusted brands across adhesive technologies, laundry and beauty care, faced mounting pressure to standardise and scale its wireless LAN as digitalisation spread across the business. With roughly 30,000 mobile devices authenticating daily and an aging AAA authentication platform nearing end-of-life, the company needed a secure, global, and futureproof network access solution to support digital workspaces, IoT and new collaboration services.

Henkel deployed about 3,000 Aruba 802.11ac access points and 300 mobility controllers, managed by AirWave, and consolidated authentication and policy with Aruba ClearPass. The migration to ClearPass — completed quickly with minimal disruption — centralized access control, automated device- and context-based permissions for 30,000+ devices, simplified administration, and delivered a stable, scalable foundation for hot-desking, Skype for Business and future Industry 4.0/IoT initiatives.
