Establishing Standardised, Easy to Manage Wi-Fi and Wired Network Across Offices and Offshore Vessels

P&O Maritime Logistics, headquartered in Dubai, is a global marine logistics provider serving the energy industry with a fleet of over 400 offshore support vessels and offices across all seven continents. Rapid growth after its merger with Topaz/DP World left the company with a patchwork of network solutions that were hard to manage, difficult to standardize, and time-consuming to upgrade—challenges compounded by limited IT resources and very short vessel docking windows.

P&O standardized its network on Aruba, deploying Aruba Central with Zero-Touch Provisioning plus Aruba AP-305 access points and 2930F switches across 38 offices and 110 vessels. The cloud-managed solution enabled one-day vessel overhauls, simplified policy management, full Wi‑Fi coverage across decks to support mobile maintenance apps, and PoE for IoT sensors—delivering reduced management overhead and crew productivity gains and achieving full ROI within 12 months.
