A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Praktiker Hellas, Greece’s leading home‑improvement retailer with 16 large stores, six million customers and over 50,000 SKUs, faced intensifying competition and changing customer expectations. After gaining independence from its former parent, the company needed a fast, secure and flexible network to deliver high‑speed Wi‑Fi, generate customer‑journey insight, support new mobile and IoT services, centralize management and reduce total cost of ownership.
Praktiker deployed a full Aruba architecture—campus core and access switches, 802.11ac indoor/outdoor APs (≈280 units), Mobility Controllers, ClearPass and AirWave—rolling out HQ to all stores between Sept 2019 and Feb 2020. The new platform unified wired/wireless management, produced granular customer data to inform sales and marketing, sped store deployments from days to hours, lowered TCO, improved security and business continuity, and freed staff time to focus on strategic projects while enabling future mobility, IoT and location‑based services.
