Rotana Hotels & Resorts needed to modernize connectivity across more than 30 properties in the UAE to meet rising guest expectations and regulatory requirements. The challenge was to deliver high-speed, reliable Wi‑Fi that could support HD streaming, wireless credit‑card payment gateways, contactless guest services and compliance with GDPR, PCI DSS and local regulations—while also providing a platform for ongoing digital innovation.

Rotana implemented Aruba 802.11ac indoor/outdoor APs and Aruba 7200 Series mobility controllers as part of a cloud‑first, SD‑WAN‑enabled network that replaced MPLS with broadband. The upgrade cut WAN traffic by 75% and increased available bandwidth 4–6x, accelerated SD‑WAN deployment to 15–27 sites per week, and delivered consistent access to SaaS/IaaS and mission‑critical services. The new platform also enabled the Rotana Rewards app, IP‑based POS and HD streaming, and consolidated IoT services (e.g., Zigbee‑enabled digital locks) to improve guest experience and operational agility.
