Dysart Taps Aruba to Stay at the Head Of the Class

Dysart Unified School District, a rapidly growing Arizona district serving 25,600 students, needed a scalable, secure wireless infrastructure to support BYOD, district-wide video collaboration, online learning and testing, and expanded outdoor access. Facing limits from a hotspot-style network and the need to contain management costs without expanding IT staff, district leaders sought a flexible solution that would deliver pervasive, high-density Wi‑Fi and stronger security controls.

Working with Vector USA, Dysart deployed an Aruba WLAN with AirWave for network monitoring and optimization and ClearPass for centralized policy and device access management. The phased rollout increased AP density (elementary schools from ~20 to 80–90 APs; high schools from ~50–60 to 120–130), removed device limits, improved educator satisfaction, enabled all-online testing and expanded facility rentals, and provided stronger security and future-ready support for Gigabit Wi‑Fi—results the district says have exceeded expectations.
