A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Emaar Malls, owner and operator of the 1.124 million sqm Dubai Mall (1,600 stores, up to 300,000 visitors a day), needed a seamless, high‑performance Wi‑Fi experience that worked across indoor/outdoor areas and huge peak‑to‑off‑peak swings. The challenge was to deliver always‑on connectivity as a service differentiator, support location‑aware business use cases, and capture visitor data to drive operational and marketing improvements.
Emaar deployed an Aruba‑based architecture (Wi‑Fi 6 access points, controllers, Mobility Conductor, ClearPass, AirWave and UXI sensors) integrated with Aislelabs analytics and guest services, blanket‑covering the mall with 2,200+ APs. The result: free connectivity for hundreds of thousands of visitors (about 40,000 unique users daily) at up to 150 Mb per user, higher CSAT (4.81/5), robust failover and automated upgrades, plus location services, heatmaps and user insights that inform operations, marketing and mall development.
