Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino, a boutique 6.5‑acre hospitality and entertainment destination in downtown Las Vegas, needed a scalable, secure network to deliver high‑performance Wi‑Fi everywhere across its two‑building property — in rooms, the casino, restaurants, pool deck and adjacent street level — while supporting mobile POS, IoT devices and a major tower expansion. The challenge was to provide seamless indoor/outdoor connectivity with centralized management and strong authentication and policy controls.

The hotel deployed Aruba indoor and outdoor Wi‑Fi and switching, ClearPass for wired and wireless authentication and policy enforcement, and AirWave for network management. The solution delivers seamless secure connectivity across the property (including outdoor street‑level Wi‑Fi), enables social‑login captive portals for personalized marketing, supports mobile POS and staff safety tools, connects next‑gen IoT like smart climate controls and scales to support the new tower and doubled room capacity.
