Digital transformation addresses new workplace experiences

Viessmann, a century-old family-owned leader in energy and climate solutions, set out to become a “Next Generation Family Business” by digitising products, services and internal processes. The company needed a mobile-first, secure network to support smart-home services, IoT in factories, mobile data collection on the production floor, and flexible campus-wide working—requirements its ageing Wi‑Fi infrastructure could no longer meet.

Viessmann implemented an all‑Aruba solution—about 1,400 Aruba access points (including 450 at HQ and 135 at the Faulquemont site), Aruba Mobility Controllers and Virtual Mobility Master, Aruba-2930F switches, ClearPass and AirWave—delivering high-performance, resilient Wi‑Fi with prioritized voice-over‑Wi‑Fi, uninterrupted services during updates, and end-to-end visibility of client connections. The deployment enabled campus-wide mobile working, stronger IoT support for Industry 4.0 initiatives, and a standardised, transparent network that will scale as Viessmann migrates more devices to Wi‑Fi and upgrades to 10Gb switching.
