Denver Public Schools Uses AirWave Wireless Management Suite to Operate a District-Wide Cisco Wireless Networ

Denver Public Schools, which serves about 73,000 students across 151 schools, operates a district-wide Cisco wireless network spanning 134 buildings and more than 2,400 access points. Rapid adoption of mobile laptops, VoIP and diverse users (students, staff, contractors and guests) — combined with a small IT team — created a pressing need for better visibility, diagnostics, security and centralized management to support continued growth.

The district deployed Aruba’s AirWave Wireless Management Suite to centralize control of its Cisco infrastructure, improve diagnostics and troubleshooting, schedule updates, and support multiple generations of hardware. As a result, the help desk gained remote visibility to resolve issues faster, routine management tasks were streamlined, lifecycle upgrades became easier, and overall management efficiency improved to support projected user growth.
