Delivering a 5G network in a box, a plug-and-play solution built on OpenRAN technology

Airspan Networks Holdings Inc., a U.S. leader in end-to-end OpenRAN 5G solutions with more than one million cells shipped to 1,000 customers in 100+ countries, needed to simplify and accelerate private and enterprise 5G deployments. The challenge was to disaggregate the RAN onto standard open interfaces, move software off radios onto off‑the‑shelf servers, enable vendor interoperability and network slicing, and deliver a pre‑integrated, plug‑and‑play solution.

Working with HPE OEM Solutions, Airspan delivered a “network in a box” starter kit: pre‑integrated 5G software on HPE ProLiant servers (with 3rd‑gen Intel Xeon processors) running Red Hat OpenShift and the HPE 5G Core Stack. The result is rapid, plug‑and‑play OpenRAN deployment in days rather than months, simplified private network rollouts, and up to 40% reductions in 5G CAPEX and OPEX.
