Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, formed in 2022 from two previous trusts, is Devon’s largest employer with 15,000+ staff serving 615,000 people across more than 2,000 square miles. The trust needed consistent, secure network access across dozens of sites to give clinical teams reliable remote access to electronic patient records, support community and remote workers, IoT and guest devices, and help reduce waiting times and improve patient outcomes.

The trust deployed a comprehensive HPE Aruba networking solution—switches, Wi‑Fi 6/6E access points and remote APs, branch gateways, SD‑Branch and microbranch, UXI sensors, Central, ClearPass and AirWave—to simplify management and secure access. The result: unified network management for ~10,000 users across 30 hospitals and remote workers, secure remote access to patient records, and support for 1,200 SaaS applications with capacity to grow.
