A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the Thames Valley District School Board Case Study

Complete cloud-managed solution provides streamlined, high-density Wi-Fi for WLAN spread over 4,300 sq. mi

Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB), which serves about 75,000 students across 159 schools and roughly 4,300 sq. mi., needed to replace a coverage‑based legacy WLAN to support rapidly growing device density (district laptops, Chromebooks, BYOT and IoT) while operating with a lean, taxpayer‑funded IT staff.

TVDSB deployed approximately 6,300 Aruba 802.11ac Instant, controllerless APs managed via Aruba Central, providing cloud‑based management, analytics, guest access and zero‑touch provisioning. The rollout delivered high‑density, resilient Wi‑Fi across about 160 facilities, empowered 40 school‑based techs, reduced data‑center and operational overhead, enabled traffic‑shaping and faster deployments, and positioned the district for VoWiFi, web conferencing and IoT initiatives.
