A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Ariba, a leading provider of enterprise commerce software, needed a scalable, secure campus Wi‑Fi solution to support hundreds of laptop‑equipped employees at its Sunnyvale headquarters and remote branch offices. A pilot using conventional “fat” APs proved costly to manage, difficult to scale and troubleshoot, and couldn’t provide the centralized control, multi‑layer security (authentication, encryption, rogue AP detection) and seamless wired integration Ariba required across diverse client OSes.
Ariba deployed Aruba’s centralized mobility solution—ArubaOS with a centralized Mobility Controller and 44 dual‑band Aruba access points—creating a logical wireless overlay over the existing L2/L3 network. The rollout delivered centralized management and RF visibility, robust security and policy control, support for hundreds of concurrent users, easier remote office deployments, lower operational costs and higher user satisfaction (e.g., 200 concurrent users with no support calls).
