Capital Normal University deploys Aruba for seamless mobility with superior performance and scalability

Capital Normal University, a Beijing institution with about 27,000 students, faculty and staff across a 3.5-square-mile campus, needed a cost-effective indoor/outdoor wireless solution. The university required seamless high-speed access across 17 departments, 61 labs and 31 computer rooms, had to overcome urban wireless interference, and wanted capacity to support future broadcast-quality video surveillance.

The university deployed Aruba’s wireless mesh—starting with 89 routers (including dual‑radio MSR2000 units) and later expanding with 200+ additional routers—providing seamless indoor/outdoor mobility, high throughput and low per‑hop latency via Aruba’s Adaptive Wireless Routing. The rollout delivered reliable, secure campus-wide Wi‑Fi, simplified infrastructure and scalable capacity to support voice and future video surveillance needs.
