A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) is a specialist research and advisory body focused on wellbeing at work, with 550 staff across six Finnish offices. During a Helsinki HQ refurbishment it needed to replace an underperforming wireless network to enable true workplace mobility — uninterrupted VoIP and app use while moving between floors and elevators, the same performance for remote workers, simplified secure access for staff/clients/visitors, and GDPR-compliant controls.
FIOH implemented Aruba’s Mobile First Architecture (600+ 802.11ac Wave 2 APs, Aruba 7210 controllers, 2930M switches, ClearPass and AirWave) in a 12-month rollout, with APs even in elevators. The result is high-performance, building-wide wireless that supports video/VoIP and roaming, role-based NAC and easier provisioning, dynamic network tuning and visibility, measurable performance gains (notably in remote offices), and a secure, flexible platform for IoT and future workplace innovations.
