A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
John Holland, a 75‑year‑old Australian construction company running more than 150 active projects, faced a new challenge: delivering consistent, secure connectivity and real‑time collaboration to remote, often address‑less sites as it shifted to cloud‑ and SaaS‑first workflows. Traditional MPLS and paper‑based processes caused bottlenecks, long setup times, and limited ability to support remote experts, field sensors and large file transfers across harsh, rapidly changing project environments.
The company adopted HPE Aruba EdgeConnect Enterprise SD‑WAN with a centralized SD‑WAN architecture and bespoke network interfaces (including Starlink) to provide secure, direct cloud breakout and unified access control. The solution halved network costs, cut site deployment from 16 weeks to as little as six days, consolidated site firewalls into four, enabled rapid connection of 120 employees on a remote project in days, and reduced interface cost estimates from about $1,000,000 to $60,000—improving agility, sustainability and remote operations.
