Case Study: Montpellier Events achieves a unified, sustainable hybrid-event network with HPE Aruba Networking

A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the Montpellier Events Case Study

Building a digital business layer to enable sustainable event management ambitions

Montpellier Events is the city’s major conference and live-events organiser in southern France, hosting some 300 events and about 500,000 attendees pre‑pandemic. When COVID‑19 halted activity the team used the pause to rethink operations with two priorities: enable hybrid, digital-first events and reduce environmental impact by pursuing ISO 20121 certification. That required a unified, resilient network across two venues able to support new applications, environmental sensors and real‑time performance visibility.

Working with Equans, Montpellier Events deployed an Aruba-based Edge Services Platform (core and access switches, mobility controllers and 300+ Wi‑Fi 6 access points) to unify wired and wireless networks. The upgrade supports 2,000 concurrent users, secure segmentation for visitors, staff and suppliers, and a range of smart-building and AV use cases (CCTV, access control, cashless and live‑streaming), creating new data points and a more sustainable, hybrid-capable events environment.
