The Dolder Grand, a historic luxury hotel above Zurich, wanted to preserve its timeless character while using technology to enhance personalised guest service. The hotel needed reliable, high-performance Wi‑Fi in every room, a platform for a new interactive mobile app and IoT services, simple and secure network access for guests and staff, discreet installation that wouldn’t affect the building’s aesthetics, and the ability to gather and protect guest data.

Working with Aruba and local partner achermann, the hotel deployed Aruba 802.11ac APs, Mobility Controllers, campus switches, ClearPass, AirWave and ArubaOS 8 with hidden, non-disruptive installations. The upgrade delivered 1 Gb bandwidth per room, full BYOD support, secure per-room AirGroup networks, faster provisioning and policy-based access, simplified management and scalability, plus richer guest insights to enable personalised marketing and future location‑based and IoT services.
