Case Study: Australian Defence Apparel achieves stronger network security and resilient digital operations with HPE Aruba Networking

A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the Australian Defence Apparel Case Study

Australian Defence Apparel boosts resilience with strong network security

Australian Defence Apparel (ADA) is the long‑standing supplier of uniforms and protective gear to the Australian Defence Force and other emergency services, producing more than 600,000 garments a year and using advanced 3D body‑scanning to drive digital workflows. Faced with a fragmented, multi‑vendor network, sensitive personal data from scans, and strict public‑sector cybersecurity requirements (including ISO 27001), ADA needed to modernize connectivity and harden security across 18 sites in Australia and New Zealand.

In partnership with HPE, ADA deployed a unified Aruba networking stack — EdgeConnect SD‑Branch, Aruba Central, ClearPass, CX switches and Wi‑Fi 6 access points — to create microsegmented, centrally managed infrastructure. The result is one‑pane visibility, zero‑touch provisioning, faster secure rollouts, improved latency and consistent access control, enabling proactive security, compliance and freeing IT staff to focus on application development while preparing ADA for Industry 4.0.
