A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia is a multi‑campus institution serving more than 10,000 students and over 1,000 staff across three sites. As part of a five‑year IT roadmap the university needed to upgrade and centralize its network to connect campuses, support a surge in mobile devices and IoT initiatives, meet hospital regulatory requirements, and reduce operational and maintenance costs.
Atma Jaya deployed an HPE Aruba solution—Aruba 5406R core switches integrated with HP MSM wireless controllers and Aruba 7200 mobility controllers with Policy Enforcement Firewall, using captive‑portal/RADIUS authentication. The unified platform provided centralized visibility and management, HIPAA‑compliant hospital connectivity, support for thousands of devices, reduced staff overhead, and lifetime warranty–backed savings (up to 80% on equipment replacement), while laying the groundwork for future IoT and e‑learning expansion.
