A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Ascham School, a progressive non‑selective day and boarding school for girls in Edgecliff, NSW with more than 1,100 students and 220 teachers and staff, embeds technology in its Dalton Plan to support personalised, independent learning and a new Personal Device Program. When its legacy Wi‑Fi failed to deliver reliable, secure access for BYOD, smart boards and online learning platforms, the school sought a campus‑wide mobility solution to restore confidence in technology as a teaching tool.
In July 2014 Ascham deployed Aruba Networks’ Mobility‑Defined Network—130 access points installed in two weeks and Aruba ClearPass for automated onboarding—providing high‑performance, secure Wi‑Fi across classrooms, boarding houses and common areas. The solution steadied the school’s digital programs (including Canvas and the intranet), dramatically reduced wireless help‑desk tickets, enables IT to onboard a class of 24 in under 10 minutes, and delivers a scalable platform for future facilities and growth.
