A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Ascham School, a progressive day and boarding school for girls in Edgecliff, NSW with over 1,100 students and 220 staff, needed a secure, reliable wireless network to support its Dalton Plan of independent, personalised learning and a new Personal Device Program from Year 5 to Year 12. The school’s legacy Wi‑Fi struggled with coverage and manual device onboarding, undermining trust in technology and limiting teachers’ ability to use digital tools effectively.
Aruba — a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company — deployed its Mobility‑Defined Network with ClearPass, installing 130 access points in two weeks to provide school‑wide coverage and automated, secure BYOD onboarding. The solution restored confidence in classroom technology, supports Canvas, Smart Boards and other digital tools, reduced technical support requests, allows onboarding a class of 24 in under 10 minutes, carries roughly 40% of traffic over wireless, and is fully scalable for future campus expansion.
