Case Study: Godolphin School achieves campus-wide seamless Wi-Fi and BYOD-enabled modern learning with HPE Aruba Networking

A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Aruba wireless platform inspires individual approach to learning

Godolphin School, a historic independent girls’ school in Wiltshire educating 480 pupils, needed to modernise its campus network to support a device-agnostic BYOD policy, growing use of video and cloud services (Office 365, virtual learning), and reliable outdoor coverage for dorms and playing fields. The existing infrastructure struggled with high-density concurrent devices and lacked centralised management and secure, simple onboarding.

Working with Medhurst, the school deployed an Aruba solution—core and access switches, 138 high-density 802.11ac APs, a mobility controller and ClearPass with Onboard/Guest—to deliver seamless indoor/outdoor Wi‑Fi, secure ID- and device-based access, and centralised traffic analytics. The upgrade supports 30+ tablets per class, Office 365 and e‑learning platforms, enables new classroom collaboration tools and IoT projects, and was completed with minimal disruption to students and staff.
