A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Brisbane Boys’ College, an independent Prep–Year 12 school in Queensland with about 1,500 students (including boarders) and 300 staff, needed to modernize its network to support a 1:1 tablet program, class iPads, interactive whiteboards and heavy Microsoft app use. The existing Wi‑Fi was flaky—especially in boarding houses—and the school required higher capacity, reliable secure connectivity across campus and seamless integration with digital learning tools despite limited IT resources.
Aruba delivered 802.11ac Wave 2 access points, 8320 and 2930 switches, ClearPass for authentication and AirWave for monitoring. The upgrade provided pervasive high‑capacity Wi‑Fi, dedicated APs in boarding rooms, better support for Microsoft services and IoT systems, simplified network management and visibility, and a drop in wireless support calls from multiple per week to about one per month.
