A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
RIOgaleão-Tom Jobim International Airport needed a high-density, reliable network to support 32 million passengers a year, nearly double capacity for the Olympics, and improve wayfinding, passenger services, and airport operations. The airport wanted a mobile app and secure wired/wireless connectivity that could handle check-in, boarding, passport control, retail, and baggage services.
HPE Aruba Networking implemented a unified solution with Aruba 802.11ac APs, 7200 Series Mobility Controllers, Meridian, ClearPass, and AirWave, along with HPE switching and IMC for the core and access network. The result was pervasive Wi‑Fi across the 100,000-square-foot airport, better security and management, turn-by-turn guidance through the Galeão app, and improved passenger experience and operational efficiency, helping position the airport to scale toward 80 million passengers a year.
