Aruba Wi-Fi makes assisted living more comfortable and caring for seniors at Lorien Health Services

Lorien Health Services is a family-run provider of assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation across 14 Maryland facilities (about 1,400 beds) that needed a more reliable, high‑density wireless network to support bedside clinical apps, mobile caregivers, secure guest access and visibility into device health. Frequent connectivity problems were disrupting electronic medical records, nurse call and other care workflows, undermining efficiency and resident experience.

Lorien partnered with Aruba (HPE) and deployed 802.11ac APs, 7000 Series Mobility Controllers and AirWave, plus AppRF, RFProtect and role-based policy controls. The result was pervasive, secure Wi‑Fi that enables bedside EMR access and reliable nurse call, supports medical IoT and telehealth, simplifies management and segmentation of guest/clinical traffic, and scales for future growth.
