A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS), a 265‑bed, 1,500‑employee health network in Brantford, Ontario, needed a secure, high‑performance Wi‑Fi platform to support physicians, staff and growing mobile medical devices. Its legacy wireless was labor‑intensive, required manual device provisioning, and relied on a costly third‑party guest service, limiting BCHS’s ability to adopt new Wi‑Fi‑enabled clinical tools and improve patient workflows.
BCHS deployed Aruba’s 802.11ac access points, Mobility Controllers and Mobility Access Switches, along with ClearPass for policy‑based authentication and AirWave for centralized, multivendor management—doubling AP coverage across its five‑building campus. The new network streamlined onboarding, reduced help‑desk calls and guest costs, improved reliability and visibility, and enabled mobile clinical apps and Wi‑Fi medical equipment (portable x‑ray, ultrasound), accelerating care delivery and lowering operational costs.
