Case Study: ÖAMTC achieves secure, resilient remote call-centre continuity during COVID with HPE Aruba Networking

A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the ÖAMTC Case Study

Aruba Remote Access enables home working as Austria’s emergency breakdown service shifts gear in response to Covid

Austria’s ÖAMTC, the national breakdown and emergency service serving 2.3 million members, faced a sudden challenge when COVID forced its 200-seat, open-plan Vienna call centre to close. With thousands of member calls daily, the organisation needed a fast, secure way to move agents to home offices without disrupting emergency response or telephony services.

ÖAMTC implemented a unified Aruba architecture—preconfigured Remote Access Points (RAPs), Mobility Controllers in HA, a Mobility Conductor and Aruba Central cloud management—allowing plug-and-play rollout across Austria (about 300 RAPs and growing). The solution delivered secure VPN access for PCs, IP phones and printers with minimal IT intervention, ensured high availability, kept emergency services running uninterrupted and established a scalable, future-proof hybrid working model.
