A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Universitas Kristen Petra in Surabaya, Indonesia — serving over 600 staff and 8,000 students — faced a decade‑old wireless network that was slow, unreliable under high traffic, provided poor campus coverage and incurred rising maintenance costs, disrupting learning and research. Head of IT Justinus Andjarwirawan sought a modern, secure, centrally managed infrastructure to support many mobile devices and future IoT growth.
Working with Aruba and partner Catalyst Solusi Integrasi, the university deployed Aruba core switches, mobility controllers and access points (including Aruba 5400/2920 series switches, 7000 controllers and 205/215/225 APs) and centralized management in a three‑month rollout. The upgrade delivered about 90% campus coverage, faster and more reliable connectivity, positive user feedback, simplified management and a clear path for IoT and smart‑campus initiatives.
