Case Study: Tennis Australia achieves scalable, secure tournament-grade Wi‑Fi and real-time situational awareness with HPE Aruba Networking

A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the Tennis Australia Case Study

Aruba networks provides flexibility scalability and situational awareness to Tennis Australia

Tennis Australia, the national governing body that runs events including the Australian Open, needed a single wireless infrastructure that could support employees, media, players, contractors and millions of fan‑driven BYOD connections—with peak tournament traffic up to 100x normal levels. The organization required scalability, secure multi‑user access, and real‑time visibility so it could reliably operate during major events and plan for future demand.

Tennis Australia deployed Aruba controllers, AP-105/AP-125 access points, remote APs and Mobility Controllers for regional sites, plus AirWave for centralized monitoring and analytics; Aruba professional services also enabled a rapid pre‑event rollout. The result was a single, policy‑driven WLAN that reliably supported all user groups, simplified remote office management, provided real‑time situational awareness during the Open, reduced operational overhead and delivered historical data to guide future capacity and fan Wi‑Fi plans.
