A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Progress Software, a global enterprise software company, wanted to enable workplace mobility and roll out Microsoft Lync for unified communications, but its legacy wireless network suffered poor performance, lack of troubleshooting visibility, and unreliable connections on mobile devices—making voice, video and screen sharing effectively unusable across its international offices.
Progress replaced its WLAN with Aruba 3600 controllers, AP‑105 access points, Policy Enforcement Firewall and AirWave management; Aruba’s application/device fingerprinting, QoS conditioning and Adaptive Radio Management optimized encrypted Lync traffic and the RF environment. The deployment—covering 30 worldwide offices—delivered toll‑quality voice and jitter‑free video, pervasive Wi‑Fi that many users now prefer to Ethernet, faster problem resolution and centralized management, with BYOD onboarding planned next.
