A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), a major Swiss medical and teaching center spanning five campuses and 100 buildings, needed to expand Wi‑Fi beyond limited clinical areas to support clinicians, students, mobile medical devices, patients, families, and visitors. The hospital required reliable, campus‑wide coverage, consistent performance, fixed IP support for medical equipment, and seamless integration with its existing network.
CHUV expanded its existing Aruba deployment—upgrading to 802.11ac APs and new Mobility Controllers, and adding AirWave for management and ClearPass for guest access—growing from 300 to 1,300 access points with zero‑touch provisioning and centralized control. The rollout delivered consistent performance for thousands of concurrent devices, increased clinician mobility and productivity, free guest Wi‑Fi for patients and visitors, and broader coverage without increasing day‑to‑day management overhead.
