Aruba modernises campus core architecture for Dutch education provider

Friesland College is a vocational training provider in the north of the Netherlands with 10 locations, two main campuses, about 15,000 students and 1,100 staff. Facing a shift to more mobile, collaborative and remote learning, the college needed a reliable, secure and easy-to-manage network that provided consistent wired and wireless connectivity, role-based access and the flexibility to support Office 365/Skype for Business, bring-your-own-device, IoT and future services.

Friesland College deployed a Mobile First Aruba architecture—400+ 802.11ac APs, Aruba switches and mobility controllers, ClearPass policy manager, AirWave network management and HPE FlexFabric cores—implemented by partner SecureLink. The result is seamless connectivity across sites, a single view for simplified management, role-based device onboarding and guest control, improved QoS for real-time apps and reduced administration time, creating a secure, scalable platform for long-term digital learning and smart-building initiatives.
