A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Stade Toulousain, France’s most famous rugby club and owner of the 20,000‑seat Ernest‑Wallon Stadium, needed a secure, high‑performance, site‑wide Wi‑Fi platform to deliver year‑round, personalized fan experiences and capture user data. The club required a system that could scale from near‑empty to 20,000+ people quickly, protect privacy, and support a new app for ordering, merchandise and live in‑stadium video.
Aruba deployed a campus solution—5400-series core switches, 2920/2530 edge switches, 120+ indoor/outdoor APs—managed by AirWave with ClearPass guest access, creating the first connected stadium in French rugby. The network enabled the Stade Toulousain App (in‑seat ordering, priority pickup, live camera streams), reliable high‑density Wi‑Fi, analytics for heat maps and user insight, increased food and merchandise sales, and a scalable platform for future location‑based and IoT services.
