A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Trevecca Nazarene University, a 2,500‑student campus in Nashville, faced growing complaints of insufficient Wi‑Fi as student device densities surged (up to 50–60 devices per four‑room suite). With faculty increasingly relying on wireless tools for teaching and learning and most students living on campus, IT leaders needed a secure, high‑density wireless and wired upgrade to support academic and residential life.
Trevecca standardized on Aruba 802.11ac indoor/outdoor APs and Mobility Controllers plus Aruba AirWave and ClearPass, and upgraded wired infrastructure with HP 2920 switches and IMC. The result: seamless, wire‑quality Wi‑Fi across indoor and outdoor spaces, simplified onboarding (over 1,800 new devices registered in three days), faster troubleshooting, automated VLAN provisioning, stronger security and a future‑proofed network that reliably supports high device densities.
