Aruba Gigabit Wi-Fi + Meridian delights 2.2 million visitors boosts vendor services and improves operations at SFP

State Fair Park in Oklahoma City—home to 2.2 million annual visitors across 435 acres and thousands of event vendors—needed to replace a patchwork of wireless systems with a secure, scalable network that could support guests, vendors and staff. The venue required high‑density, unified wired and wireless access plus a mobile engagement platform to guide visitors and enable vendor services during year‑round events and its 900,000‑attendee Oklahoma State Fair.

Working with RFIP, SFP deployed Aruba 802.11ac indoor/outdoor APs, 7200 Series controllers, Mobility Access Switches, ClearPass, AirWave and the Meridian mobile app. The result is park‑wide gigabit Wi‑Fi, a popular OK State Fair app, centralized administration for a lean IT team, five role‑based segregated networks for secure vendor/operational access, faster troubleshooting with VisualRF, and new opportunities for targeted engagement (about 60% of app installs are iOS) as the campus and new Expo Center scale.
