Aruba Gigabit Wi-Fi enables artists to create and collaborate anywhere across 11-acre campus

DreamWorks Animation, a leading CG animation studio in Glendale, faced a growing challenge: its legacy wireless network couldn’t scale to meet artists’ mobility expectations across an 11‑acre campus or support remote collaboration and increasingly bandwidth‑heavy animation applications. The studio needed campus‑wide, high‑density Wi‑Fi with strong role‑based security and the ability to grow as demands increased.

DreamWorks deployed Aruba’s 802.11ac Wave 1/2 indoor and outdoor APs, mobility controllers, switches, ClearPass access control and AirWave management. The upgrade delivered gigabit Wi‑Fi everywhere on campus, handled peaks of ~2,500 devices, eliminated weekly Wi‑Fi complaints, unified wired and wireless security, and positioned the studio for multi‑gigabit future upgrades while enabling mobile engagement tools like beacons and Meridian.
