A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Martini Hospital, a Dutch clinical training hospital known for its Dialysis Center and Burns Unit, needed to accelerate digitisation to support mobile electronic patient records, PACS image sharing and a growing number of Wi‑Fi medical devices. A steel‑framed building and an aging wireless setup left coverage and stability inadequate, preventing reliable use of Citrix VDI and 170+ “computers on wheels” and blocking rollout of mobile care, security and facilities apps.
The hospital deployed an Aruba solution—802.11ac Wave 2 APs, Aruba 7200 controllers, Mobility Master, ClearPass and AirWave—after a site survey and proof‑of‑concept. The new network delivers seamless high‑density Wi‑Fi across the site, uninterrupted connectivity for 170+ mobile workstations, improved VDI performance, live mobile pharmacy/dietician/maintenance apps, and centralized visibility and policy control to support secure, scalable digital-care innovations.
