A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
FNV, the Netherlands’ largest trade union with over 1 million members, needed to modernize and consolidate four legacy networks after merging four unions. The organization planned to reduce about 100 offices into 35 locations (including a new Utrecht head office) and required a “Mobile First” infrastructure that delivered consistent, secure connectivity and a uniform experience for up to 3,000 daily users at the head office.
FNV selected an Aruba end-to-end solution—802.11ac APs (including high-density AP-315), Aruba switches, ClientMatch, App-RF for Skype for Business QoS and ClearPass for policy-based access—implemented with Unica Schutte ICT and Zero-Touch Deployment for rapid roll-out. The result is a stable, scalable wireless-first network with consistent service across sites, simplified management, flexible secure guest and employee access, high-density Wi‑Fi where needed, and seamless support for Office 365, Skype for Business and Citrix VDI.
