A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Villanova College, an independent Catholic school in Brisbane educating about 1,250 students, needed to replace an aging wireless system to support a BYOD program and give its IT team better tools for onboarding and management. The school required a high‑density, secure and scalable campus‑wide network that could easily onboard more than 1,400 devices and separate access for staff, students and guests.
Villanova deployed Aruba 802.11ac indoor/outdoor APs integrated with HPE switches, ClearPass for identity and access control, and AirWave for visibility. The solution created multi‑layer networks for teachers, students and guests, enabled rapid device onboarding and on‑the‑ground IT support, reliably handled daily connections of ~1,400 devices, and proved scalable for future growth and guest Wi‑Fi at large events.
