A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
CERTUS is a leading banking, business and finance institute in Peru with more than 25,000 students across 12 campuses. Facing intense competition from nearly 800 local institutes, CERTUS needed to modernize its aging, patchy Wi‑Fi—limited coverage, multiple unmanaged SSIDs, poor roaming and high maintenance costs—to attract a new, mobile generation and support future virtual learning.
CERTUS expanded its Aruba/HPE deployment—802.11ac APs, Mobility Controllers, AirWave, ClearPass, IMC and HPE switches and services—to deliver a fully managed, secure wireless campus. The rollout delivered 100% Wi‑Fi coverage at new sites, supports ~10,000 concurrent users, enabled free community hotspots, cut deployment time by 10x, reduced infrastructure costs by 40–60% versus wired builds, and simplified operations to a two‑person team while future‑proofing the network for streaming and growth.
