A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Rangitoto College, New Zealand’s largest secondary school, needed a campus-wide wireless network to support its e‑learning and BYOD initiatives—3,200 students, 300+ staff and the ability to handle 10,000+ concurrent devices. The school required a scalable, reliable solution to enable Google Apps, its RangiNet portal and modern, collaborative classroom learning.
Aruba deployed 802.11ac access points, VLAN pooling and an Aruba 7210 controller to replace the legacy system, delivering a robust, scalable Wi‑Fi backbone. The solution enabled a successful BYOD rollout, expanded learning beyond traditional classrooms (including outdoor activities), increased student engagement and collaboration, and positioned the college for future growth and services such as wireless access control.
