Aruba 802.11ac addresses density and performance while also helping boost revenues for fast ROI

Grand America Hotels and Resorts, including the Grand America and Little America properties, was struggling to support skyrocketing mobile device densities from conferences and tech‑savvy guests. The existing Wi‑Fi was unreliable and lacked flexible bandwidth controls and granular reporting, so the hotel needed a high‑density, scalable enterprise WLAN that could be managed centrally and generate event revenue.

Working with Red Sky Solutions, the hotels deployed Aruba 802.11ac access points, 7200 Series Mobility Controllers and AirWave network management. The upgrade delivered reliable coverage across large event spaces, on‑the‑fly bandwidth provisioning and per‑device limits, plus detailed usage reporting sold as a value‑added service—resulting in excellent attendee experiences (e.g., 800 devices in a single meeting room), new revenue streams and an expected ROI in under 18 months, with scalability for portfolio‑wide modernization.
