A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Al Murooj Rotana in Dubai was struggling with intermittent Wi‑Fi—signal drops and slow performance as 900–1,000 daily guests increasingly used video and multimedia apps. Firmware updates and adding APs proved only temporary fixes, so the hotel’s IT team decided to overhaul the wireless infrastructure to meet guests’ expectations for fast, reliable and secure connectivity.
The hotel deployed an Aruba 802.11ac solution—AP‑205H and AP‑275 access points with Aruba 7200 series mobility controllers—in two phases (450 APs for the apartment tower, then 750 for the hotel) for a total of 1,200 APs. The three‑month, low‑disruption rollout delivered 100% coverage, seamless roaming via ClientMatch, centralized management and network segmentation for security, raised guest Wi‑Fi satisfaction by 15%, and enabled new services such as IPTV, tablet check‑in and iPad menus.
