A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
AHNAC (North Artois Clinical Hospital Association) is a not-for-profit hospital group operating 18 services across 12 sites in northern France, with 3,200 staff, ~1,600 beds and tens of thousands of annual admissions, surgeries and emergency visits. Facing an ageing wired and wireless infrastructure, increasing network traffic from large medical images, and new demands for telemedicine, telemetry, secure digital medical records and guest Wi‑Fi, the IT team needed a resilient, secure and cost-effective network that could support mobile care and future services without disrupting operations.
AHNAC deployed an Aruba solution—campus switches, AP‑305 access points, AirWave, ClearPass, AirMatch/ClientMatch and integrations with Mitel, Fortinet, Philips telemetry and VMware AirWatch—while reusing much of its existing cabling. The result was seamless roaming, automated security and VLAN management, reliable transport of medical imaging, expanded telemedicine and patient services, streamlined IT administration and a 45% reduction in total cost of ownership, enabling faster service rollout and improved patient and staff experience.
